Community Bank Holds AML & CFT Conference 2025
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. organized its Annual AML & CFT Conference 2025 with active participation of officials from across the Bank. The day-long conference was held on Saturday (1 November 2025).
Mr. Md. Mofizur Rahman Khan Chowdhury, Head (Acting) of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), attended the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Kimwia Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank, was present as the Special Guest.
Throughout the day, BFIU Deputy Director Mr. Hafizur Rahman, Joint Director Mr. Ibna Ahsan Kabir, and Joint Director Mr. A.N.M. Kalim Uddin Hasan Tushar discussed in detail a wide range of crucial issues, including:
- Compliance responsibilities of senior management,
- Roles of Branch AML Compliance Officers (BAMLCOs),
- Trade-based and credit-based money laundering techniques,
- Emerging financial crimes,
- Hundi, gaming, betting, cryptocurrency, and other high-risk areas.
They also reviewed essential compliance requirements for bank branches and divisions, and outlined actionable directives to strengthen AML & CFT practices.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Sajjad Hossain, Additional Director, Bangladesh Bank expressed his expectations from Banks in combating financial irregularities and crime.
During the conference, Community Bank’s CAMLCO & Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr. Shamsul Haque Sufyani, and Deputy CAMLCO & Head of Operations Mr. Sarfuddin Md. Redwan Patwary delivered important remarks on anti-money laundering (AML) and countering financing of terrorism (CFT).
The program was also attended by Company Secretary Mr. Saiful Alam, FCS; Head of Internal Control and Compliance (ICC) Mr. Mohammad Khairul Alam, FCA; along with all Divisional Heads, Branch Managers, and BAMLCOs from every branch of Community Bank.
