
Community Bank signs “Participatory Agreement” with Bangladesh Bank regarding Women Entrepreneur Refinance Scheme
Dhaka, [07 August, 2025] — Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has signed a “Participatory Agreement” with Bangladesh Bank to join the ‘Small Enterprise Refinance Scheme for Women Entrepreneurs, a key initiative aimed at expanding access to finance for women entrepreneurs across Bangladesh. The agreement was signed on Wednesday (August 6, 2025) at the central bank’s Jahangir Alam Conference Center in the presence of Nurun Nahar, Deputy Governor and Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director, Bangladesh Bank.
Nawshad Mustafa, Director, SMESPD of Bangladesh Bank and Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC signed & exchanged the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Besides, Dr. Md. Ariful Islam, Head of Corporate Banking & Head of Business (Branch), Md. Mamun Ur Rahman, Head of ADC & Head of MD’s Coordination team, Sharif Hasan Mamun, Head of SME & Agriculture of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. along with other Senior Officials of Both Organizations Bank were also present on this occasion.
According to the agreement, from now on, SME women entrepreneurs will get low-profit investments under the Bangladesh Bank’s refinance scheme through Community Bank.
