
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. celebrates its 6th anniversary with various events
Dhaka, 13 September 2025: Community Bank Bangladesh PLC celebrated its 6th anniversary last Thursday (September 11, 2025) with a function at a prestigious hotel in the capital.
The event was graced by Mr. Baharul Alam, BPM, Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh, and Chairman of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC., who presided over the ceremony. In his remarks, Mr. Baharul Alam, BPM, Inspector General of Police and Chairman of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, reaffirmed the Bank’s founding philosophy: “Since its inception, Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. has been serving as a people’s Bank. Guided by the principles of Trust, Security, and Progress, we remain committed to contributing to the economic growth of Bangladesh.”
The Bank’s Board of Directors, valued customers, distinguished guests, and members of the media were in attendance. The celebration commenced with the recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by captivating audio-visual presentations, motion graphics, and special showcases highlighting the Bank’s latest innovations and achievements.
In his keynote address, Mr. Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge), presented the Bank’s vision, mission, and future roadmap. He underscored Community Bank’s commitment to accelerating the growth of the SME and startup ecosystem in Bangladesh. As part of this strategy, the Bank recently launched “SME 360,” an integrated business solution for SMEs, and introduced “Startup Nest,” the country’s first bank-led startup accelerator. Additionally, the Bank rolled out an AI-driven Small Credit Scoring Model—developed in collaboration with local and international partners—and launched new customer-centric services, including QR-based Cash Withdrawal and Community Access, a web-based banking solution.
The program also featured remarks from distinguished members of the Board, including: Mr. S M Sazzat Ali, ndc, Commissioner, Dhaka Metropolitan Police; Mr. AKM Shahidur Rahman, BPM, PPM, ndc, Director General, Rapid Action Battalion; Mr. Md. Golam Rasul, Additional IG, Special Branch, Bangladesh Police; Mr. Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim, BPM (Sheba), DIG (Admin), Police Headquarters, Bangladesh Police; Mr. Ahmad Muyeed, BPM (Sheba), Additional DIG, Bangladesh Police Kallyan Trust), Bangladesh Police and Mr. Kamrul Hasan Talukdar, Inspector, Bangladesh Police and President, Bangladesh Police Association.
As part of its commitment to financial inclusion, special refinancing cheques were distributed among women entrepreneurs and small business owners. The first cheque under the AI-driven Credit Scoring Model project—developed in collaboration with PriyoShop and InGenee Singapore—was also officially handed over.
The celebration concluded with a ceremonial cake-cutting, followed by a cultural performance. The evening ended with a gala dinner and musical performance, bringing together stakeholders to celebrate six years of growth, innovation, and service excellence.
